There are different types of documents.
From the Latin documentum , a document is a letter, diploma or writing that illustrates a fact, situation or circumstance. It is also the writing that presents data that can be used to verify something .
For example: "I have a document that proves the embezzlement of funds carried out by the governor" , "This letter does not constitute a document that guarantees his innocence."
Classification of a document
There are many classifications that are made of documents, however, one of the most frequent is that which has as a fundamental criterion to develop the support in which they are found. Hence, two large groups are basically established: textual documents, which are those made on paper, and non-textual documents, which are those that use any other type of support to store specific information. Examples of this last type are documents found on a pen drive, on a compact disc, in a sound recording, in a video...
However, it must also be said that documents can be classified, based on the information they contain. Thus, we would come across the primary ones, which are those that directly transmit the opinion of the person who makes them; the secondary ones, which are the result of having treated the previous documents; and the tertiary ones, which are those that arise as a result of treating the secondary ones.
The concept in law
It is important to highlight that there are also multiple types of documents within what would be the scope of Law. Thus, for example, we find the so-called public document that we can define as one that certifies certain facts and that is made and certified by an official of the Public Administration.
In the same way, there is the private document which, as opposed to the previous one, is one that proves something and is authorized by the interested parties although not by the official in question.
To these two types of documents we should add a third, which is what is called an authentic document. As its name indicates, we could define it as one that is legalized or absolutely authorized.
The identity document allows the State to recognize each citizen.
The identity document
The document issued by the State to enable the personal identification of each citizen is known as an identity document , national identity document (DNI) or identity card .
All people must have an identity document that proves who they are and that allows them to access state or other services: "The number of my identity document is capicúa" , "To access credit, you must present your identification document." identity along with the last three pay stubs " , "Only suitable for adults. The notion in computing
The notion of a document has been altered with the advancement of computing . A document used to be a piece of paper or some other type of physical medium. On the other hand, for computing, a document is a digital file that can be viewed or shared through a computer .
In this sense, a computer document can be a text, an image, a sound, an animation or a video: "Yesterday I had to format the hard drive and I lost all my documents" , "I need you to send me by email the document that I "We worked this morning with the lawyer," "I just deleted the document, do you want me to try to recover it?" .
