The concept in politics

In the field of politics , we usually speak of convergence when several parties or groups come together in a coalition or on a platform . In Chile , for example, the Socialist Convergence existed between 1979 and 1983 . This movement brought together, after the division of the Socialist Party of Chile , various groups that identified with socialism. In Guatemala , for its part, the National Convergence Front was founded in 2008 , bringing together right-wing leaders and militants.

In addition to all of the above, we have to emphasize that in the political sphere Convergencia i Unió also gains relevance, which translated into Spanish means “Convergence and Union.” It was a political party from Spain, specifically it has a Catalan nationalist ideology, and was created in the 1970s, exactly in 1973, and was dissolved in 2015.

It was made up of the Democratic Union of Catalonia, with Christian Democratic ideas, and the center-right Democratic Convergence of Catalonia.

CIU were the acronym of this political party that has played an essential role in the history of that autonomous community. And he was at the head of his government from 1980 to 2003 with Jordi Pujol as president. From 2003 to 2010 the PSC (Catalan Socialist Party) was in government and in 2010 CIU returned to be in charge of Catalonia with Artur Mas as president. A party that in recent years, although dissolved, remained relevant because it has been convicted of illegal financing.

Convergence in biology and technology

For biology , the idea of convergence appears when similar structures develop an independent evolutionary process from different ancestors and through different procedures.

When two horizontal air currents meet , the phenomenon that meteorology experts also call convergence occurs. The collision generates a dynamic rise of the air masses.

In the field of technology , finally, convergence is known as the chance to access different services through the same device or the ability of various network platforms to allow the sending and reception of similar signals.
