Clarion

The first thing to discover is the etymological origin of the term clarín. In this case, we can state that it is a word that derives from Latin, exactly from "clarus", which can be translated as "brilliant", "illustrious" or "famous".

A bugle is a metallic wind instrument , which is similar to a trumpet , although smaller in size and with higher-pitched sounds. It has a hemispherical mouthpiece, a bell-shaped pavilion and a cup-like mouthpiece.

ClarionThere are bugles that have a valve to lower the tuning by a fourth. Most bugles lack valves anyway. The most common tuning is in B flat .

In ancient times, the Romans had three types of bugles. Each one had its characteristics and was used for different purposes. At that time the bugle began to be used for calls by cavalry and other military forces.

"Clarín" is also the name of the most popular newspaper in Argentina , whose symbol is, precisely, a person playing the aforementioned wind instrument. The newspaper was founded in 1945 by Roberto Noble with a tabloid format, which was rare at that time.

From the newspaper "Clarín" another series of interesting data must be presented, such as the following:

-It is the newspaper with the largest circulation in Argentina.

-Until 2017, its director was Ernestina Herrera de Noble, the widow of the founder.

-It is presented with the following slogan: "The great Argentine newspaper."

-It has its digital version like many other publications from around the world. That version, according to the latest data available, makes it the third most visited digital newspaper in Spanish in the world with just over 8 million unique users.

-One of the hallmarks of this media is that it gives priority to local issues as well as sports and the field of culture and entertainment.

At the end of 1998 , Grupo Clarín emerged, a multimedia company that has the newspapers "Clarín" , "La Razón" and "Olé" ; the TV channels El Trece , Todo Noticias , Canal (á) , América Sports and El Garage TV ; the radio stations Radio Miter and La 100 ; the cable TV operator Cablevisión ; the Internet provider Fibertel ; and many other companies. This multiplicity of companies linked to the dissemination of information and access to it gives great power to Grupo Clarín , which has been the subject of accusations and criticism from various political sectors.

Leopoldo Alas "Clarín" , finally, was a prominent Spanish writer born in 1852 and died in 1901 , author of "La regenta" , "Cuestabajo" , "El gallo de Sócrates" , "Moral tales" and other works .

It is considered that together with the Canarian writer Benito Pérez Galdós (1843 – 1920) they formed the best couple of novelists of the 19th century in Spain. "La Regenta" was his best-known literary work, which has made him a key figure in Spanish literature of all time. However, we cannot ignore that he also worked as a journalist, addressing not only literary but also political issues.
