The Gallic word carros passed into the Latin carrus , and this came to our language as car . The concept refers to a vehicle equipped with two wheels and pulled by an animal that is used to transport different objects.
Carts are carriages : means of transport that have a frame mounted on wheels. In this case, the frame has a frame with ropes that allow the load to be supported and with boards that hold it. It also has rods that are used to hitch the shot.
To pull a cart it is possible to use oxen, mules, horses or other animals. The choice of draft animal is usually linked to availability according to geographical characteristics.
It must also be established that there are many types of cars, among which we can highlight some such as the following:
-Berlina, which is a closed carriage with a square appearance on the upper part, while the lower part has the appearance of a ship. It also has side doors with glass and has capacity for four people.
-Cabriolet, which is a two-wheeled car with a hood.
-Buggy, which is another type of carriage that can have two or three wheels. Inside it can have two or four seats. In the same way, it should be noted that its hood is made of cowhide. Nowadays, horse-drawn carriages have become tourist-type means of transportation that allow visitors to get to know the historic centers of certain cities in Spain. We are referring to cities such as Seville or Córdoba, among others.
-Quadriga, which was a type of chariot typical of the Roman Empire. This was pulled by four horses in a line, hence its name. The best known of all is the one that is part of the Berlin Quadriga monument that crowns what is the Brandenburg Gate.
-Phaeton is another type of four-wheeled chariot that can go with or without a hood. It has a box for the rear seat and a circular seat shape for the front. In addition, there are several types, such as the arrow phaeton, the light phaeton, the door phaeton...
When the cart is pulled by a human being , it is called a rickshaw . These vehicles are often used in Asian nations such as India and China and are even an attraction for tourists.
In some countries , car is synonymous with car or automobile : “I'm very unlucky: my car broke down and tomorrow I have to travel,” “The car ran out of gas,” “My father doesn't want to lend me his car.”
You can also use the idea of cart, in the diminutive form, to refer to a baby stroller (child's stroller) or a supermarket cart (also called changuito or chango).
The notion of a cart, finally, can refer to a large amount : “I have a truckload of problems, I don't know what to do anymore,” “If I could get rid of the cart of pending tasks that I have, I would go to the bar with you without hesitation.”
