Bonus

Discount

A bonus can be a discount.

Before proceeding to establish the meaning of the term bonus , it is essential to know its etymological origin. In this case, we can say that it is a word that derives from Latin. Specifically, it is the result of the sum of the following differentiated parts:

– The adjective bonus , which is synonymous with “good”.

– The verb facere , which can be translated as “to make”.

– The suffix -cion , which is equivalent to “action and effect”.

Bonus concept

The act and result of giving a bonus is called a bonus: giving someone a discount on an amount they must pay or an increase on an amount they must collect. There is also talk of a bonus when a certain item is recorded in the credit account.

For example: “The municipal government announced that taxpayers who pay real estate tax before March 10 will have a 10% bonus,” “In our store, retirees enjoy a 20% bonus on the total value of their purchase.” ” , “The owner of the company gave us a bonus for Commercial Employee Day” .

A bonus, therefore, can be a discount applied to something that must be paid for . Suppose that a mobile telephone company (cell phone) offers a basic subscription of 200 pesos per month . As a promotion, however, the company offers a 10% bonus to students who sign up for this subscription. This means that students pay 180 pesos per month because they are deducted 20 pesos (the 10% bonus on the 200 pesos of the general subscription ).

Prize

The special prize that is exceptionally added to the remuneration is referred to as a bonus or bonus.

The notion in the Spanish self-employed sector

The term bonus acquired great relevance in 2016 within the self-employed sector in Spain . Specifically, with the self-employed law that has been carried out, different bonuses have been determined for those, among which are some such as these:

– 1 year flat rate. What this means is that during the first twelve months as self-employed they only have to pay a fee of 50 euros per month and not 275 euros as all self-employed people pay monthly.

– Self-employed workers due to maternity, paternity, adoption, breastfeeding or risk of pregnancy can enjoy a bonus of 100% of their monthly contribution for the duration of that leave.

– Self-employed people with disabilities greater than 33%, as well as those who have been victims of terrorism or gender violence, can also enjoy this flat rate of 50 euros for the first year. Of course, they can also enjoy 50% of the self-employed quota for the following four years.

The bonus as a bonus

A bonus or prize that is added, in a special way, to remuneration is also called a bonus.

The government of a country can give a 25% bonus to state employees to help them alleviate the effects of inflation, to mention one possibility. This means that the State worker who usually earns $1,000 per month will receive, one time only, $1,250 thanks to this bonus.
