Bodoque

It can be mentioned as a bodoque to something confusing or complex.

From the Greek pontikón to the classical Arabic bunduq , and then to the Hispanic Arabic búnduq : that was the etymological journey of the term bodoque before reaching our language . It is a concept to which the Royal Spanish Academy ( RAE ) recognizes ten meanings.

The first one that appears in the RAE dictionary refers to an embroidery task that is carried out in relief and with a rounded shape. This is a point that requires a certain practice and skill to perform.

Bodoque as embroidery

Panete is also called the aforementioned bodoque or embroidery that is carried out, above all, to decorate baby clothes.

Some tips to get a nice bodoque are the following:

-It is necessary to hold the fabric firmly using the thumb and index fingers of the opposite hand to the one holding the needle.

-It is essential not to grab the fabric by making folds, that is, it should not be wrinkled.

-In the same way, it is recommended to use a thimble when creating bodoques. Because? For several reasons: to avoid getting pricked, to be able to press the needle harder and also to work better when dealing with particularly hard fabrics.

-Patience is required because the bodoques are laborious and very meticulous.

In addition, the burujo is called bodoque (a type of lump that is created with dough or wool); to a ball of clay that is made with the help of a mold and that, once hardened, is shot with a crossbow; and the edge that allows the eyelets of a mattress to be reinforced.

In colloquial language, bodoque acquires various meanings, which vary according to the country.
