An antro is a grotto or a cavern , according to the first meaning mentioned in the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy ( RAE ). The term in our language comes from the Latin antrum , in turn derived from the Greek ántron .
By extension to this meaning , the most common use of the term today appears. A place that has a negative reputation or whose appearance is bad or dark is called a dive.
