Person counting euro bills

Every salaried worker has the right to an advance for the work performed.

The term advance is associated with an advance , an amount of money that is provided as part of a total to be paid in the future . It comes from the verb to advance .

Salary advance

An advance, in this framework, is something that is specified or provided before the planned or agreed time . The concept is usually used to refer to money that is granted in advance.

Suppose a person receives his salary between the 1st and the 10th of each month. However, an inconvenience causes him to run out of money in the middle of the month, so he would have to wait at least fifteen days until he receives his next salary. Faced with this situation, you request an advance from your employer : that is, you ask him to give you a part of your next salary in advance . This way you can meet your immediate financial obligations.

Note that the laws determine that every salaried worker has the right to request an advance on his salary, but only for the work he has already completed , and not for the work he still owes his company. However, the employer can make an exception if he or she believes the employer deserves the money anyway.

Brief excerpt

In the media , we usually talk about a preview when a topic is briefly presented to generate interest in the public, but warning that the full development will take place later. Take the case of a journalistic program in which, at the close of an edition, its host points out: “Now, as a preview, we are going to see that a senator asks a businessman for a bribe. The complete investigation, in our next broadcast.”

The media uses various strategies to attract and maintain the attention of the public before presenting the full content, whether in television programs, print media or other formats. Sneak peeks (also called previews ) are intended to generate anticipation and curiosity in the viewer or reader. Some of the common techniques used in these contexts include:

  • Eye-catching headlines : they should be brief but impactful, capturing the essence of the news or content and generating intrigue;
  • enigmatic images : suggestive but without revealing all the information. This can be effective in piquing audience interest;
  • surprise : sharing small parts of the news or the entire report can give an idea of the content without revealing all the details , leaving room for surprise;
  • Rhetorical questions : Asking questions in the previews can stimulate the audience's curiosity and make them want to know the full answer, for which they will have to stay until the end;
  • Promises of revelations : Create a sense of anticipation by suggesting that there is important or shocking information that will be revealed in the full content. Whether they are unknown details, revelations or exclusives that will come later;
  • short summaries : concise but intriguing, to give a general idea and increase the desire to know more;
  • music and visual effects : these resources can create an emotional atmosphere that increases anticipation;
  • feature recognizable personalities : If a public or well-known figure will present the content, mentioning their participation can generate additional interest;
  • create mystery : Revealing only part of the story and leaving certain details a mystery can encourage the audience to want to discover the full story.

The purpose of a content preview is to capture the audience's attention.

It is important that these advances are balanced and honest so as not to generate excessive expectations that are not met later. The goal is to engage the audience ethically and maintain their interest until they can access the full content.

Overtaking

The idea of advancement can also be linked to an overtaking (the act and result of taking the lead) or an improvement . For example: “The local team achieved the lead on the scoreboard with a goal from its captain” , “The arrival of natural gas was a great advance for the town” .
